MAC Addresses

Every device capable of connecting to the internet has a media access control (MAC) address. A MAC address is a string of numbers and letters that acts as a unique identifier for each device. By knowing the MAC addresses of devices on the network, you can more easily identify and troubleshoot issues.
Most MAC addresses can be found within the advanced network settings of a device. Since each device is unique, if you are having trouble finding the MAC address, simply search the internet for information on that specific model. A MAC address will always be made up of twelve characters. Here is an example of what a MAC address looks like:
