Note: The iOS version of the Doctrinal Mastery app has not yet been updated with the new scripture mastery passages. This will happen in a future update of the app. However, the Android version is currently updated.

The iOS version of the Doctrinal Mastery app can be found by searching for Doctrinal Mastery in the App Store or on iTunes.

The Doctrinal Mastery app has three main exercises to help you master the scriptures:

  • Memorize—a fun and easy exercise to help you memorize the scripture mastery passages.
  • Flashcards—flashcards to practice and reinforce what you have learned.
  • Quiz—a quiz to test your knowledge of what you have memorized.

Memorize

Start by selecting a scripture you want to memorize. Once you have selected the scripture, you can use the controls at the bottom of the screen to help you memorize it.

The plus (+) and minus (-) buttons increase or decrease the difficulty level. The higher the difficulty level, the more words that are hidden.

The Hide/Show button will toggle between hiding some of the words based upon the currently set difficulty level and showing all of the words.

The Randomize button at the top right of the screen will change the words that are hidden for the currently selected difficulty level.

Flashcards

You can select groups of flashcards to practice with. Select the book you want to study and the number of flashcards you want to work on. These can be sets of 5, 10, 15, 20, or 25.

Check the check mark if you got it right, or the x if you got it wrong. The app will give you the option at the end to retest yourself on the ones you missed. If you click TAP HERE TO PEEK, you will see the answer to the flashcard. If you want to see the full scripture when you peek, click Scripture. If you want to see a key phrase when you peek, click Hint.

Once you have completed your set of flashcards, you will be able to review the cards you missed.

Quiz

Select the book you want to study and the number of questions you want in your quiz. This can be a set of 5, 10, 15, 20, or 25 questions.

As with the flashcard tool, you can toggle between seeing key phrases only or the full text of the scripture by selecting Scripture or Hint.

For every question there will be four references. Select the reference that goes along with the key phrase or full scripture that is displayed. For each quiz question you answer correctly, you add five points to your score. When a name is submitted with the score, the score is then saved in the main menu under High Scores.
