LDS.org Broadcast Overview

Using a PC, Mac, or other Internet-enabled device, local units are able to connect to a projector or TV and play back videos for congregations. Alternately, playback may be done using a USB drive or by burning the broadcast onto a DVD.

Connecting to a Projector and the Meetinghouse Video System
Connecting to a projector and the meetinghouse video distribution system can be complex because of the mixed signal types involved. However, using a scan converter with pass-through capabilities can solve this problem.
Requirements
- Meetinghouse with a standard Church video distribution system with a camera input location
- Projector with a VGA input port
- Scan converter similar to the Sabrent TV-PC85
- Two VGA cables
- One composite video cable (length needed will depend on the locations of the camera input and the projector)
- Church broadcast receiving device

Note: Apple computers may require an additional dongle connector.
- Plug one end of the VGA cable into the VGA port on the computer.
- Plug the other end of that VGA cable into the VGA input port on the Sabrent TV-PC85 device.
- Plug one end of another VGA cable into the VGA output port of the Sabrent device.
- Plug the other end of the second VGA cable into the VGA input port of the projector or TV.
- On the TV or projector, select the appropriate input source.
- Connect the composite video output cable of the Sabrent device to the camera input location in the meetinghouse.
- Change the computer’s output display resolution to 1024 x 768 by following the instructions on one of these tutorials: Windows 7 or Vista, Windows XP, or Apple.

Connecting the sound from a PC or Mac to a TV or projector using a 1/8-inch stereo audio cable
- Plug a 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) stereo audio cable into the “line out” or headphone port on the computer.
- Plug the opposite end of the 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) stereo audio cable into the “line in” jack of the TV, projector, or audio system*. In many cases, you may need to use a 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) to dual RCA cable.
* Connect a pc or mac to the sound system using an EJ-8 (crab box).
