The exotic and colorful world of Zoltán Kodály’s “Peacock Variations” is brought to life by the Lyceum Philharmonic, along with Tchaikovsky’s thunderous Piano Concerto No. 1, performed by Ramona Andersen; Shostakovich’s revolutionary Cello Concerto No. 1, performed by Dallin Morgan; and Khachaturian’s intoxicating “Waltz” from Masquerade, conducted by Samuel Abramson. Don’t miss the climactic finale to the Lyceum Philharmonic’s 2024–25 season.
Lyceum Philharmonic at American Heritage School, led by Kayson Brown, is one of the most comprehensive and awarded youth orchestras of its kind in the nation. With a focus on faith, patriotism, and excellence, the youth of the orchestra learn to “love music more” through musical service, meaningful media, and inspiring events. Featured on PBS with The Piano Guys, recorded for SONY Masterworks, and winner of the Best of State award for the past 16 years, Lyceum Philharmonic inspires youth of all ages and abilities. These accomplished musicians come from schools across Utah to participate in one of 12 audition-only ensembles at American Heritage School campuses in downtown Salt Lake City and American Fork. Lyceum Philharmonic has reached the top of the Billboard charts on multiple albums. The Lyceum Hilharmonic’s most recent album, Counting Christmas Blessings, was released last November and is available on all streaming platforms. See LyceumPhilharmonic.com for its latest videos, streams, and concerts.
