President Russell M. Nelson waves to people in the Conference Center as the First Presidency leaves a session of the April 2018 general conference.

What have you learned from President Russell M. Nelson this year?

“President Nelson’s teachings on revelation in the last general conference made a strong impression on me. We have seen him use revelation in selecting counselors, choosing new Apostles, and directing changes to the elders quorum and ministering programs. However, he also encouraged us all to receive revelation. ‘Nothing opens the heavens quite like the combination of increased obedience, earnest seeking, daily feasting on the words of Christ in the Book of Mormon, and regular time committed to temple and family history work.’ I know that great blessings await as we follow this counsel.” —Layne Bracy, Fort Lupton Ward, Brighton Colorado Stake

“President Nelson’s example has reaffirmed my testimony of the truth that God guides and directs His kingdom on earth through living prophets. With the recent world tour of President Nelson, and the recent changes to policies and programs in President Nelson’s short time as prophet, I feel that it is evident that the Lord is hastening His work in preparation for the His Second Coming and He needs His covenant people to be refined and ready. One way is by following the new effort to minister and care for one another as Christ would.” —Jo-Ann E. Gray, Timpview 3rd Ward, Orem Utah Timpview Stake

“I have learned that daily study of the Book of Mormon and the teachings of Jesus Christ is a lifetime pursuit. I have been inspired that as a woman of covenant, I need to have a bedrock understanding of the doctrine of Christ. President Nelson has taught me that now is the time to rise up and live in such a way to qualify for personal revelation and that having the Spirit direct me is key to ministering. I have learned that I have access to the powers of heaven to help me as I live righteously and put God first in my life. President Nelson’s life is an incredible example of that.” Melanie Christensen, Harrison Bay Ward, Chattanooga Tennessee Stake
