“The study plans feature in Gospel Library was built specifically to support individuals’ and families’ goals to regularly study the gospel of Jesus Christ. As you develop regular study habits of the scriptures and words of living prophets, you will see the promised miracles in your lives.” —Rob Jex, product manager of the Gospel Library app

In section eight of Preach My Gospel, the most repeated phrase is “set goals and make plans.”

Whether you’re a missionary or a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, setting goals, making plans, and checking off your accomplishments can be satisfying as well as spiritually rewarding.

This year, try using the Study Plans feature in the Gospel Library App with its scheduling and reminder tools to help you set and achieve your gospel study goals.

What Is the Study Plans Feature?

The Study Plans Feature, available for both iOS and Android devices, helps Gospel Library users reach reading and studying goals for gospel content. Simply set your goals and the desired schedule and the app automatically calculates exactly how much you need to read to meet your goal by the date you select.

Some of the content that can be used with Study Plans includes (but is not limited to):

Study plan for the Book of Mormon.

You can create multiple study plans and continue studying from wherever you previously left off. If you miss a day or two, you don’t have to worry. Study Plans will automatically recalculate what you need to read to still accomplish your goal.

Why Use the Study Plans Feature?

“The study plans feature in Gospel Library was built specifically to support individuals’ and families’ goals to regularly study the gospel of Jesus Christ,” said Rob Jex, product manager of the Gospel Library app. “As you develop regular study habits of the scriptures and words of living prophets, you will see the promised miracles in your lives.”

Jex said that in his experience, blessings come despite our imperfect efforts. “As a father I am trying to do this and the blessings are coming even though I’m not perfect at the daily study yet. The study plans daily reminder feature helps me in juggling all the good things with that which is essential.

Plans for future improvements to Study Plans include the ability to:

  • Sync your study plans across your mobile devices
  • Select the plan’s start and stop points within a book
  • Select from topical study plans that focus on prophetic priorities like the Restoration, daily repentance, or ministering
  • Have audio-recording-based study plans
  • Create custom study plans that include content from any publication in the app
  • Invite someone to study your custom study plan with you and have social discussions about your common study

“We will keep developing this feature to make it even more helpful,” Jex said, encouraging users to submit ideas through the “Send Feedback” form in the Settings area of the app. “And if you know how to use this feature, please share how to use it with others.”
