Three Utah Temples Get New Presidents
The First Presidency has called three new temple presidents and matrons. They will begin their service later this year.
Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple
Ken B. and Joyce A. Asay
Ken Black Asay, 66, Rose Canyon 1st Ward, Herriman Utah Rose Canyon Stake, called as president of the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple, succeeding President A. Roger Merrill. President Asay’s wife, Joyce Viola Aston Asay, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Rebecca R. Merrill. He serves as second counselor in the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple presidency and as a Sunday School teacher. He has served as a welfare regional chairman, stake president, bishop, volunteer assistant temple recorder, and temple ordinance worker. Retired general manager of The Lincservice, he was born in Richfield, Utah, to Ellis Egan and Shirley Asay.
Sister Asay serves as assistant to the matron at the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple and as a Sunday School teacher. She has served as a counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Relief Society president, and ward Young Women president. She was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, to Samuel and Viola Marjorie Birtcher Aston.
Manti Utah Temple
Lonnie B. and Kaye P. Nally
Lonnie Boyd Nally, 75, Highland 15th Ward, Highland Utah East Stake, called as president of the Manti Utah Temple, succeeding President G. Steven Grimshaw. President Nally’s wife, Kaye Priday Nally, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Carla P. Grimshaw. He has served as president of the Australia Perth Mission, president of the Provo Missionary Training Center, stake president, bishop, high councilor, and senior missionary. A retired regional manager of Phillips Petroleum, he was born in Lordsburg, New Mexico, to Boyd Dale and Martha Orpha Bradberry Johnson Nally.
Sister Nally served with her husband as he presided over the Australia Perth Mission and over the Provo Missionary Training Center. She has also served on the Church Curriculum Committee and as stake and ward Young Women president, stake Primary president, ward Relief Society president, senior missionary, and temple ordinance worker. She was born in Cedar City, Utah, to Leland Forbes and Thelma Farnsworth Priday.
Brigham City Utah Temple
Jay C. and Marcia H. Stuart
Jay Charles Stuart, 71, Brigham City 18th Ward, Brigham City Utah West Stake, called as president of the Brigham City Utah Temple, succeeding President Preston J. Checketts. President Stuart’s wife, Marcia Hillam Stuart, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Louise B. Checketts. He serves as a patriarch, Sunday School teacher, and sealer. He has served as a counselor in the Ogden Utah Temple presidency, stake president’s counselor, high councilor, bishop’s counselor, temple ordinance worker, and temple missionary. A retired assistant superintendent for the Box Elder School District, he was born in Logan, Utah, to Charles Poppleton and Donna May Jenson Stuart.
Sister Stuart serves as a Sunday School teacher and as a temple ordinance worker. She has served as an assistant to the matron at the Ogden Utah Temple, ward Young Women president, ward Relief Society president’s counselor, ward Primary president’s counselor, and temple missionary. She was born in Brigham City, Utah, to Clark Marcel and Margaret Andersen Hillam.
