The world-renowned vocalist Sissel, known for her ethereal arias throughout the film “Titanic,“ will join with the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square for their annual Pioneer Day concert, Friday and Saturday, July 19 and 20 at 8 p.m., Newsroom announced.

“We are honored to have Sissel perform with us again,” Mack Wilberg, music director of the choir, said. “The sincerity and purity of her voice captivates everyone who hears it. ... We count her as one of the Choir’s closest friends.”

Sissel has previously performed with the Tabernacle Choir for the 2006 Christmas concert and two broadcasts of “Music and the Spoken Word”—in May 2005 to celebrate Norway’s 100th anniversary, and December 2007. Following the Pioneer Day concert, she will appear on the July 22 “Music and the Spoken Word” broadcast at 9:30 a.m.

Tickets to the Pioneer Day concert are free but required, and will be available in mid-June at ChurchofJesusChrist.org/events/temple-square-events. No tickets are required for the Music and the Spoken Word broadcast, but patrons should be in their seats in the Conference Center by 9:15 a.m.

Those who cannot attend the Pioneer Day concert can watch the concert streamed live on thetabernaclechoir.org at 8 p.m. on July 20.
