Beginning March 31, the Church is embarking on an Easter initiative to celebrate the life and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.

This Easter season, the Church is inviting the world to celebrate the life and Resurrection of Jesus Christ through its “Prince of Peace” initiative, which takes its theme from the scriptural passage Isaiah 9:6 and includes learning more about eight key principles of peace.

Some downloadable resources for Church members to use to invite people to come to Christ during the Easter season are available now at mormon.org/download. The inspirational “Prince of Peace” video, social media memes, and other videos will be available beginning March 31 on mormon.org and the Church’s Gospel Library app.

Available in 33 languages, the “Prince of Peace” video and other components of the initiative extend invitations to visit mormon.org and to learn more about eight principles of peace: faith, God’s word, compassion, gratitude, prayer, forgiveness, repentance, and hope.

Each principle includes a video, references, and ideas that help teach the principle. During Holy Week, which runs from Palm Sunday on April 9 through Easter Sunday, April 16, video vignettes pertaining to the each of the eight principles will be released on the mormon.org Facebook page. On April 9, the focus will be on faith, compassion on April 10, and so forth.

The video vignette illustrating the principle of faith features a mother who was diagnosed with terminal cancer while she was pregnant. She was given only a predicted 15 months to live.

In the video, she expresses that she felt uncertain and scared but that her faith helped her. “I have faith that I’m not alone in that darkness, that my Savior is there walking beside me to uplift me.”

In the video illustrating gratitude, a college student tells of growing up in a disadvantaged area of New Orleans, where he drew strength from his gratitude for being the son of his father, a volunteer firefighter who died in the line of duty.

“Gratitude gives me peace in a lot of ways,” he says in the video. “I have so much to be grateful for that it would be disrespectful to God if I wasn’t happy. By living my life optimistically, I’m paying it forward with what God has given me.”

One component of the initiative is pass-along cards in English, Spanish, and Portuguese that Church members can download and print to invite others to visit mormon.org and learn about principles of peace they can apply in their lives.
