New Section of ChurchofJesusChrist.org Focuses on Daughters in My Kingdom

The new Daughters in My Kingdom section of ChurchofJesusChrist.org parallels the material found in the book by the same name.

On Friday, September 9, ChurchofJesusChrist.org launched a new section of ChurchofJesusChrist.org,Daughters in My Kingdom, a resource members of the Church can use to learn more about the work and history of Relief Society.
The website parallels the material found in the recently published book, Daughters in My Kingdom: The History and Work of Relief Society, and also delves more deeply into some of the topics in the book.
“The purpose of the Daughters in My Kingdom site is to help users discover the faith-promoting principles and doctrines contained in the book,” said Jana P. Staples, Relief Society general board member. “Members’ desire to live the gospel can increase and they can gain a greater understanding of their roles and responsibilities.”
Material from the website can be used by leaders as a resource in Relief Society meetings or in other Church settings. Readers can use the website in their personal and family studies.
Under the section “What Have Others Learned?” users can learn about other’s experiences reading the book, which will roll out in languages between November 2011 and February 2012.
There is also a place where users can e-mail their own experiences, detailing how their testimonies have been strengthened as they’ve read the book.
Under “Excerpts From the Book,” users can download inspiring quotes from Daughters in My Kingdom: The History and Work of Relief Society for use in lessons and as handouts.
“We would invite every member to visit the website,” Sister Staples said. “It is a wonderful resource for learning about the legacy of women throughout the history of the Church.”
Both the book and the website are helpful resources for anyone wishing to learn about the work and history of Relief Society.
“Brett,” who read the book, posted his experience to the site: “I really enjoyed the book, in that it delved into the strength of women. … I hope this book will be a call to action to my daughter and to all women to recognize their strength as daughters of God.”
The website includes a feature that allows a user to download a PDF version of the book. In the next month visitors will be able to access online, audiobook, and ePub versions of the book.
Other updates are also coming to the website soon, including the ability for users to use Facebook, Twitter, and e-mail to share the material.
