New Mission Presidents Called to Areas Including Chile, Nicaragua, New Zealand

Eight new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service in July.

Nicaragua Managua South Mission

Mark Steven Brown, 41, and Lisa Marie Derrick Brown, four children, Mueller Park 10th Ward, Bountiful Utah Mueller Park Stake: Nicaragua Managua South Mission, succeeding President Bryan G. Russell and Sister Peggy Russell. Brother Brown is a former stake president, stake presidency counselor, bishop, ward Young Men president, ward mission leader, and missionary in the Spain Malaga Mission. Owner, BMB Investments. Born in Salt Lake City to Boyd Joseph Brown and Manuela Hainke Brown.

Sister Brown serves as a Cub Scout leader and is a former stake Primary presidency counselor, ward Relief Society and Young Women president, and ward Primary presidency counselor. Born in Salt Lake City to Lawrence Reimann Derrick and Kathy Ann Bosen Derrick.

New Zealand Hamilton Mission

Jeffrey Donald Cummings, 60, and Evelyn Margaret Hooper Cummings, seven children, Emu Plains Ward, Penrith Australia Stake: New Zealand Hamilton Mission, succeeding President Charles A. Rudd and Sister Annette Rudd. Brother Cummings serves as an Area Seventy and is a former mission presidency counselor, stake president, bishop, high councilor, and missionary in the Canada Vancouver Mission. Self-employed land developer. Born in Perth, Australia, to Donald Wilfred Cummings and Margaret Amy Oliver Cummings.

Sister Cummings is a former ward Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary presidency counselor, temple preparation teacher, and missionary in the Australia Sydney Mission. Born in Adelaide, Australia, to Thomas Frederick Hooper and Margaret Faunt Hooper.

Chile Rancagua Mission

Reed Juan Harris, 58, and Kathleen Coleman Harris, six children, Twin Falls 24th Ward, Twin Falls Idaho South Stake: Chile Rancagua Mission, succeeding President Thomas R. Warne and Sister Renae K. Warne. Brother Harris is a former stake president, stake presidency counselor, bishop, high councilor, stake Young Men presidency counselor, ward mission leader, and missionary in the Bolivia La Paz Mission. Self-employed cardiologist. Born in Moses Lake, Washington, to Dee Meikle Harris and Betty Jean Kinghorn Harris.

Sister Harris is a former ward Relief Society and Young Women president, ward Relief Society and Primary presidency counselor, Relief Society meeting coordinator, and ward Young Women adviser. Born in Moscow, Idaho, to John R Coleman and Marjory Remington Coleman.

Brazil Fortaleza East Mission

Ricardo Cerqueira Leite, 51, and Cristiane Janotti Cerqueira Leite, three children, Jardim das Palmas Ward, São Paulo Brazil Ferreira Stake: Brazil Fortaleza East Mission, succeeding President Carlos Fusco and Sister Jaqueline Fusco. Brother Leite serves as a Sunday School teacher and is a former stake president, stake presidency counselor, bishop, and missionary in the Brazil Curitiba Mission. Attorney and founding partner, Cerqueira Leite Advogados Associados. Born in Campinas, Brazil, to Itoby Cerqueira Leite and Helena Cerqueira Leite.

Sister Leite serves as a stake Primary presidency counselor and is a former ward Relief Society and Young Women president, ward Relief Society and Primary presidency counselor, and seminary teacher. Born in Osasco, Brazil, to Walter Janotti and Melina Cugler Janotti.

México México City East Mission

Siegfried Ariel Naumann, 47, and Riitta Helena Pyykkö Naumann, four children, Belmont 1st Ward, Cambridge Massachusetts Stake: México México City East Mission, succeeding President Sergio M. Anaya and Sister Gloria Anaya. Brother Naumann serves as a Primary teacher and temple ordinance worker and is a former stake presidency counselor, bishop, high councilor, bishopric counselor, and missionary in the Florida Tampa Mission. Sloan fellow, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and retired orthodontist. Born in Santiago, Chile, to Julio Naumann and Laura Lucile Varas Naumann.

Sister Naumann serves as a Primary teacher and is a former stake Young Women presidency counselor, ward Relief Society president, Cub Scout leader, and missionary in the Florida Tampa Mission. Born in Oulu, Finland, to Taisto Ilmari Pyykkö and Eeva Annikki Loukkola Pyykkö.

Philippines Butuan Mission

Avelino Nonod Santillan, 51, and Leonor Rosario Ramos Maquiran Santillan, three children, Sum-ag Ward, Bacolod Philippines South Stake: Philippines Butuan Mission, succeeding President Pastor B. Torres and Sister Wilma Torres. Brother Santillan is a former stake president, mission presidency counselor, bishop, and missionary in the Philippines Quezon City Mission. Education program supervisor, Department of Education. Born in Isabela, Negros Occidental, Philippines, to Bonifacio Ela Santillan and Felomina Piojo Nonod Santillan.

Sister Santillan serves as a stake Relief Society president and is a former stake Relief Society presidency counselor, ward Primary president, ward Relief Society presidency counselor, family history consultant, and missionary in the Philippines Manila Mission. Born in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, Philippines, to Gregorio Nonato Maquiran and Erlinda Sarmiento Ramos Maquiran.

California Carlsbad Mission

Glen Blair Thomas, 59, and Kim Ward Thomas, five children, Springwood Ward, Bountiful Utah Orchard Stake: California Carlsbad Mission, succeeding President Hal C. Kendrick and Sister Julie Kendrick. Brother Thomas is a former bishop, high councilor, stake executive secretary, high priests group leader, mission preparation instructor, Scoutmaster, and missionary in the México Torreón Mission. Manager of special projects, G&K Services. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Nyron Hunsaker Thomas and Gerdie Johanna Barton Thomas.

Sister Thomas is a former ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women and Primary presidency counselor, ward organist, mission preparation instructor, and ward Young Women adviser. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Arlo V. Ward and LoRaine Ann Malan Ward.

Chile Santiago West Mission

Christopher George Woodward, 48, and Jennifer Gold Woodward, four children, Port Coquitlam Ward, Surrey British Columbia Stake: Chile Santiago West Mission, succeeding President José A. Barreiros and Sister Alba Barreiros. Brother Woodward is a former stake presidency counselor, bishop, high councilor, stake clerk, ward Young Men president, and missionary in the Spain Seville Mission. Vice president, Supply Chain Operations, Ryder System Inc. Born in Los Angeles, California, to Arlan Wallace Woodward and Sally Johanna Lindsey Woodward.

Sister Woodward serves as a ward Young Women presidency counselor and is a former ward Young Women president, ward Primary presidency counselor, temple worker, and missionary in the Dominican Republic Santiago Mission. Born in Salt Lake City to Cyrus Harvey Gold and Joyce Fullmer Nilson.
