New Directors to Serve at Visitors’ Centers in Hawaii, Mexico, Hyde Park, and More in 2018

Seven new visitors’ center and historic site directors and their wives have been called. They will begin their service in January of 2018.

Portland Temple Visitors’ Center

Martha F. and Charles P. Allen

Charles Paul Allen, 63, and Martha Fleming Allen, six children, Walters Hill Ward, Mount Hood Oregon Stake: Portland Temple Visitors’ Center, succeeding Elder Lee A. Barney and Sister Ilene Barney. Brother Allen serves as stake executive secretary and is a former stake presidency counselor, bishop, high councilor, stake mission president, and senior missionary in the Norway Oslo Mission. Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to John William Allen and Mary Wilma Roberts Allen.

Sister Allen serves as a ward Relief Society secretary and is a former senior missionary in the Norway Oslo Mission, stake Primary secretary, ward Relief Society and Primary president, and missionary in the Norway Oslo Mission. Born in Ajo, Arizona, to Irvan Ward Fleming and Martha Moody Fleming.

Laie Hawaii Temple Visitors’ Center

Stephen B. and Nancy Allen

Stephen Brown Allen, 67, and Nancy Billings Allen, six children, Westland 1st Ward, West Jordan Utah Westland Stake: Laie Hawaii Temple Visitors’ Center, succeeding Elder Jeffrey C. Swinton and Sister Heidi Swinton. Brother Allen serves as a Sunday School teacher and is a former Area Seventy, president of the Arizona Tempe Mission, stake president, stake presidency counselor, bishop, and missionary in the Guatemala El Salvador Mission. Born in Salt Lake City to Arthur Tranter Allen and Virginia Brown.

Sister Allen serves as a ward Relief Society president. She previously served with her husband in the Arizona Tempe Mission and is a former ward Young Women president, nursery leader, and temple ordinance worker. Born in Provo, Utah, to Evan Abram Billings and Elda Mae Lewis Billings.

Idaho Falls Temple Visitors’ Center

Carol Ann and Clifford A. Beesley

Clifford Alden Beesley, 66, and Carol Ann Smith Beesley, five children, Grant 1st Ward, Menan Idaho Stake: Idaho Falls Temple Visitors’ Center, succeeding Elder DeLoy C. Roberts and Sister Lorna K. Roberts. Brother Beesley serves as a young single adult bishop and is a former senior missionary in the Germany Berlin Mission, stake presidency counselor, bishop, stake clerk, and missionary in the Austria Mission. Born in Rigby, Idaho, to Alden Henry Beesley and Phyllis Bowles Beesley Moss.

Sister Beesley served with her husband in the Germany Berlin Mission and is a former stake Relief Society and Primary president, ward Relief Society and Primary president, and ward Young Women presidency counselor. Born in Romulus, New York, to Kenneth Doyle Smith and Geraldine Pond Smith.

México City Temple Visitors’ Center

Thomas W. and Joanne Brailsford

Thomas Warren Brailsford, 69, and Joanne Lemmon Brailsford, four children, Fleming Park Ward, Kansas City Missouri Stake: México City Temple Visitors’ Center, succeeding Elder Richard B. Lines and Sister Ramona G. Lines. Brother Brailsford serves as a temple sealer and is a former stake president, bishop, high councilor, mission presidency counselor in the México City South Mission, and missionary in the México North Central Mission. Born in Provo, Utah, to Jack Warren Brailsford and Dorothy Whitesides.

Sister Brailsford serves as a temple ordinance worker and is a former stake Relief Society and Primary presidency counselor, ward Relief Society and Young Women president, and senior missionary in the México City South Mission. Born in San Diego, California, to Robert H. Lemmon and Patricia Helene Walker Lemmon.

Hyde Park Chapel Visitors’ Center

Dale H and Mary-Jo Christensen

Dale H Christensen, 69, and Mary-Jo Nanna Christensen, four children, Trenton Branch, Far West Missouri Stake: Hyde Park Chapel Visitors’ Center, succeeding Elder Rodney C. Hulet and Sister Connie Hulet. Brother Christensen serves as a Sunday School teacher and is a former president of the Peru Lima South Mission, senior missionary in the New York New York North Mission, bishop, high councilor, temple ordinance worker, and missionary in the New England States Mission. Born in Shelley, Idaho, to Irven Christensen and Esther Thornton Christensen.

Sister Christensen previously served with her husband in the Peru Lima South Mission and New York New York North Mission and is a former ward Relief Society and Young Women president, branch Primary president, and temple ordinance worker. Born in Mt. Vernon, New York, to John Nanna and Dorothy Sposato Nanna.

Oakland Temple Visitors’ Center

Jack D. and Deborah J. Crossley

Jack David Crossley, 66, and Deborah Jeanne Lockhart Crossley, eight children, Butler 20th Ward, Salt Lake Butler West Stake: Oakland Temple Visitors’ Center, succeeding Elder Brent D. Ward and Sister Esther Jane Ward. Brother Crossley serves as a Sunday School teacher and is a former patriarch, mission presidency counselor, stake presidency counselor, bishop, temple ordinance worker, Scoutmaster, and missionary in the Uruguay-Paraguay Mission. Born in Los Angeles, California, to Wayne Hartley Crossley and Barbara Elizabeth Luckett Crossley.

Sister Crossley serves as a Primary teacher and is a former ward Relief Society president, ward Relief Society and Young Women presidency counselor, ward music director, and temple ordinance worker. Born in Ft. Benning, Georgia, to Terrance Patterson Lockhart and Kathleen Jordan Lockhart-Warner.

Joseph Smith Birthplace Memorial

Marcene and Danny G. Ferguson

Danny Gene Ferguson, 65, and Marcene Miller Ferguson, five children, Shelton Ward, Ririe Idaho Stake: Joseph Smith Birthplace Memorial, succeeding Elder David H. Fuhriman and Sister Karen Fuhriman. Brother Ferguson serves as a ward mission leader and is a former bishop, high councilor, bishopric counselor, and missionary in the Germany South Mission. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Claude Gene Ferguson and Betty Jane Ellis Ferguson.

Sister Ferguson serves as a ward temple and family history consultant and is a former stake Relief Society secretary, Gospel Doctrine teacher, and ward Relief Society compassionate service leader. Born in Rigby, Idaho, to Gene LaFaye Miller and Arlene Lovisa Hunt Miller.
