New 2016 Mission Presidents Called to Brazil, Argentina, Other Missions

Eight new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service in July.

México Saltillo Mission

Kevin Scott Cahoon, 64, and Jeri Lynn Jesperson Cahoon, three children, Monument Park 17th Ward, Salt Lake Monument Park North Stake: México Saltillo Mission, succeeding President L. Fernando Rodriguez and Sister Rosa O. Rocha de Rodriguez. Brother Cahoon is a former mission presidency counselor, stake presidency counselor, bishop, high councilor, elders quorum president, and missionary in the Bolivia Mission. Private venture partner, dentist. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Lysle Reynolds Cahoon and Betty Jane Preston Cahoon.

Sister Cahoon served with her husband in the Salt Lake Inner City Mission and is a former ward Young Women president, ward Primary presidency counselor, and temple ordinance worker. Born in La Mesa, California, to Elmer Vere Jesperson and Geraldine Echols Jesperson.

Papua New Guinea Lae Mission

Sitiveni Fe’Aomoehala Fehoko, 56, and Kilisitina Tu’itamala Langi Fehoko, seven children, Va’epopua 1st Ward, Nuku’alofa Tonga Stake: Papua New Guinea Lae Mission, succeeding President Mark P. Peteru and Sister Ruta Peteru. Brother Fehoko is a former mission presidency counselor, stake president, bishop, branch president, and regional welfare agent. Artist and owner, family business. Born in Ha’ano, Ha’apai, Tonga, to Tevita ‘Uluakivalu Fehoko and Melemosimani Fehoko.

Sister Fehoko is a former stake and ward Primary president and stake and ward Relief Society president. Born in Nuku’alofa, Tongatapu, Tonga, to Mele Peti Langi and Sione Havea Hikule’o Langi.

Colorado Denver South Mission

Kirk Douglas Gifford, 54, and Holley Elizabeth Randle Gifford, three children, Mill Hollow 2nd Ward, Rexburg Idaho North Stake: Colorado Denver South Mission, succeeding President J Blake Murdock and Sister Julie Murdock. Brother Gifford is a former Area Seventy executive secretary, stake president, stake presidency counselor, stake executive secretary, bishop, and missionary in the Italy Catania Mission. Professor, Brigham Young Universty–Idaho. Born in Salt Lake City to Errol June Gifford and Margene Bramble Gifford.

Sister Gifford is a former stake Young Women presidency counselor, ward Relief Society president, ward Primary presidency counselor, ward family history consultant, and missionary in the South Africa Johannesburg Mission. Born in Salt Lake City to Paul Allan Randle and Margaret Joan Bishop Randle.

México Monterrey East Mission

Mark Joseph Maucotel, 56, and Audrey Pratt Maucotel, six children, Park Orchard Ward, Kent Washington Stake: México Monterrey East Mission, succeeding President Larry C. Bird and Sister Tami Sue Bird. Brother Maucotel serves as a high priests group instructor and is a former stake president, high councilor, bishop, stake mission president, Young Men adviser, and missionary in the Argentina Rosario Mission. Temple recorder, Corporation of the President. Born in Salt Lake City to Joseph Athanase Maucotel and Bertrice Afton Allen Maucotel.

Sister Maucotel is a former ward Primary president, ward Relief Society presidency counselor, stake Relief Society board member, seminary teacher, and ward Primary music leader. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, to Emerson Wayne Pratt and Myrna Jean Frazer Pratt.

Brazil Londrina Mission

Luiz Andrade Pereira, 42, and Andreia de Oliveira Santos Pereira, two children, Aracati Ward, São Paulo Brazil Guarapiranga Stake: Brazil Londrina Mission, succeeding President C. Alberto Genaro and Sister Andreia Genaro. Brother Pereira is a former stake president, bishop, bishopric counselor, high councilor, and missionary in the Brazil Manaus Mission. Coordinator, Seminaries and Institutes. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, to Sebastiao Maximiano Pereira and Carmelina Andrade Pereira.

Sister Pereira serves as a Sunday School teacher and is a former stake Primary presidency counselor, ward Relief Society and Young Women president, branch Primary president, and seminary teacher. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, to Edvaldo de Oliveira Santos and Anízia Moura de Jesús Santos.

Ecuador Guayaquil West Mission

Rosendo Valerio Santos Camargo, 57, and Maria del Rosario Mercado de Santos, four children, Magdalena Ward, Lima Perú Magdalena Stake: Ecuador Guayaquil West Mission, succeeding President Jorge Dennis and Sister J. Anette Dennis. Brother Santos serves in a stake presidency and is a former stake president, stake presidency counselor, bishop, and missionary in the Perú Arequipa Mission. Sister Santos is a former ward Relief Society and Primary president, ward Relief Society and Young Women presidency counselor, Primary teacher, and Sunday School teacher. Born in Callao, Perú, to Santiago Mercado and Maria Teresa Benites.

Argentina Posadas Mission

Wenceslao Hugo Svec, 59, and Alicia Nelly Parra Arenas de Svec, four children, Graneros Ward, Rancagua Chile Tupahue Stake: Argentina Posadas Mission, succeeding President Lee R. LaPierre and Sister Dorothy LaPierre. Brother Svec is a former Area Seventy, stake president, stake presidency counselor, mission presidency counselor, bishop, and missionary in the Chile Osorno Mission. Arizona Gilbert Mission

Richard William Wheeler, 61, and Linda Nielson Wheeler, six children, Ephraim 8th Ward, Ephraim Utah Stake: Arizona Gilbert Mission, succeeding President K. Brett Nattress and Sister Shawna Nattress. Brother Wheeler is a former Area Seventy, stake president, stake presidency counselor, bishop, and missionary in the Florida Tallahassee Mission. Vice president and professor, Snow College. Sister Wheeler is a former stake Relief Society president; ward Young Women and Primary president; ward Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary presidency counselor; and temple worker. Born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, to Vail Howard Nielson and Anna Colleen Jensen Nielson.
