LDS Music App Now Available for Android

The free LDS Music app is now available for Android devices.

The LDS Music mobile app is now available for Android.
The free mobile app produced by the Church—which many members use to access hymns and children’s songs—has been available for iOS since 2011.
Research has shown that members of the Church outside the United States prefer Android over iOS, so this popular app will now be accessible to a much wider audience.
Diane Bastian, product manager of the LDS Music app, expressed excitement over this new development. “We have had many requests for this application, especially outside the United States,” she said. “The iOS version is very popular, and we expect the downloads of this one to mushroom.”
The LDS Music app contains the content of the LDS hymnal, the Children’s Songbook, and additional children’s songs. Each song can be viewed in two formats—the sheet music or the text only.

The app is also a music player, providing both instrumental accompaniment and vocal tracks.
A search bar allows users to locate songs quickly, and tabs at the top of the screen sort hymns alphabetically or numerically.
The “Topics” bar lists songs by topic, helping users find songs that match gospel themes for Church lessons or family home evening activities. You can also find hymns by selecting the name of the author or composer under the “People” tab.
Users can also create personalized playlists of uplifting songs.
