A rendering and location of the Feather River California Temple, which was announced in October 2018 by President Russell M. Nelson, have been released by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The temple, which is planned to be just over 38,000 square feet, will sit on a nine-acre site at 1470 Butte House Road in Yuba City, California, according to a Newsroom release. The existing meetinghouse at the location will be demolished, and a new meetinghouse and distribution center will be built.

Yuba City mayor Preet Didbal issued a statement pledging support for the future temple in a Church News article covering the announcement in the October 2018 general conference:

“I’m excited The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chose Yuba City to located [sic] their next temple. I know the members of the Church in our city, region and Northern California will benefit from this important religious facility. Yuba City is the ideal location for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days to build a temple. Known for our diversity, our city embraces all cultures and religious beliefs. I look forward to working with the Church to ensure a smooth and efficient processing of this project.”

No groundbreaking date has been set, as detailed design plans for the temple are still in the making.
