If you have the Church News app on your smartphone and didn’t receive the notification, likely either you don’t have your app’s “enable notifications” feature on or you have an older version of the app that needs to be updated.

“Since we launched the Church News app, this has been our most requested new feature,” said Deseret News head digital officer Burke Olsen. “With app alerts, it’s never been easier to get the latest news about the Church.”

Church News editor Sarah Jane Weaver added, “As a ‘living record of the Restoration,’ the Church News continues its efforts to connect members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to news of the Church and its members.” Now the ability to receive app notifications strengthens other recent efforts, she said, including Spanish and Portuguese editions, a redesigned print edition, a new web site, and a mobile app.

To receive future app notifications from the Church News app, check to see you have the latest version of the app installed on your phone and your app settings are set to allow notifications.
