For many people, watching the millions of Temple Square Christmas lights turn on for the first time officially signals the beginning of the Christmas season.

For 2017, the Christmas lights will turn on at dusk on Friday, November 24, the day after Thanksgiving. Visitors are welcome to come see the lights any time during the Christmas season from dusk until 10:00 p.m. through December 31.

Visitors to Temple Square are also invited to attend other Christmas and New Year’s performances and events. Unless stated, all are free and all ages are welcome.
