“Why I Believe” Fireside featuring the Gillespies

Come to our April "Why I Believe" Fireside featuring Brother and Sister Gillespie, current missionaries in the Washington D.C. Temple Visitors' Center.


The Gillespies have served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout the world. Elder Gillespie has served as a stake president, stake president, stake patriarch, mission president, a member of the 2nd Quorum of the Seventy and a temple president.

Elder Gillespie earned a Ph.D. in civil engineering and worked as an engineer, and director of the U.S. Transportation Safety Institute.

Sister Gillespie worked as a radiologic technologist and department manager. She has served in all of the Church auxiliary organizations and as an ordinance worker in the Manti Temple. She has been a Relief Society and Primary President, an early morning seminary teacher, and a full-time missionary.
