The Days of ’47 Scholarship Royalty Pageant is scheduled for April 11 in the Bountiful Regional Center. The public is invited to attend on Saturday, April 11. Three young women will be selected who exemplify the high standards of pioneers, past and present, as they represent the state of Utah, Days of ’47, and Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
The pageant is open to all women between the ages of 18 and 25, regardless of religious or ethnic background, who have graduated from high school, have pioneer ancestry, and are qualified in other required areas (see official application). The contestants are judged on moral character, community service, education, and goals, along with stage presence, communication skills, and personal appearance.
Scholarship funds will be given to the queen and two attendants. All applications must be received by 4:00 p.m., March 27, at the Pioneer Memorial Museum, 300 North Main Street, Salt Lake City.
Tickets are not required for these events.
This free event is open to the public and will begin at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Bountiful Regional Center.
