Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple Open House

A free public open house for the Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will begin Thursday, August 8, and go through Saturday, August 17, 2019, except for Sunday, August 11.
A youth devotional with Church leaders will be held Saturday, August 31, and broadcast to meetinghouses within the temple district. The temple will be dedicated the next day, on Sunday, September 1, in three sessions: at 9:00 a.m., noon, and 3:00 p.m. Additional details about the dedication will be released later in the dedication event article.
Thomas S. Monson, then President of the Church, announced construction of the temple at the Church’s April 2015 general conference. Ground was broken for the Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple on Saturday, October 28, 2017, directed by Elder Walter F. González, General Authority Seventy and President of the Caribbean Area.
The temple district comprises more than 17,000 Latter-day Saints located in four Haiti stakes and three districts.

The Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple is well lit inside with wall sconces and chandeliers.
The temple will open for ordinances for all patrons on Tuesday, September 10.
