The Great Wall of China, Iguazu Falls in Brazil, the beautiful beaches of Hawaii, and the majestic rock formations of Zion National Park are places you might find on some people’s bucket lists to visit. For other people, it’s just another day at the office when you perform your music in these incredible places. For the Piano Guys, this is all part of what they do.
These four faithful members of the Church have combined their talents to create unique and entertaining music. Their videos have been seen more than 700 million times on YouTube, and they have performed for audiences all over the world.
Next month, the Piano Guys will be the featured guests for the Church’s next Face to Face youth event. Youth are invited to participate in this live, interactive Q&A and musical event on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. mountain daylight time (MDT).
“This event allows youth to see they are a part of an amazing and diverse group,” said Brother Stephen W. Owen, Young Men general president. “It is the kind of event they can invite friends of all faiths to. All who participate will feel the Spirit together.”
Sister Bonnie L. Oscarson, Young Women general president, said, “The Piano Guys are talented individuals, but they are also great examples of men who serve their families and the Lord in many ways.”
Jon Schmidt, Steven Sharp Nelson, Al van der Beek, and Paul Anderson explain on their website that their purpose as a group is “to make a positive impact in the lives of people all over the world through music videos.” This event aims to bring the youth of the Church together to learn how they too can have a positive impact on others by magnifying their talents and following the promptings of the Holy Ghost.
Join the interactive event October 20 by watching the live stream on ChurchofJesusChrist.org, the LDS Youth Facebook page, the Youth Activities site, or the LDS Youth YouTube page. The event will be live in English, with simultaneous Spanish and Portuguese translation and English captioning.
Youth are encouraged to participate by submitting questions they have for the Piano Guys both before and during the event and by following the conversation with #LDSface2face.
Parents and youth leaders can use this event as a family or Mutual night activity. Youth and young adults are encouraged to invite their friends.
“We express our gratitude to the Piano Guys for their willingness to share their experiences and testimonies with the youth of the Church,” said Elder Craig A. Cardon of the Seventy. “I know that all who faithfully participate, no matter their global location or means of connection, will be strengthened and edified by the Spirit during the event.”

Face to Face events
Face to Face with the Piano Guys is the fourth Face to Face event sponsored by the Church. Face to Face events feature special LDS guests answering real questions sent in by youth and are viewed by tens of thousands worldwide during and after the events.
In the May 2015 Face to Face with Elder and Sister Bednar, Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Susan Bednar, taught the youth a pattern for receiving answers to their questions. David Archuleta and Lindsey Stirling, both popular musicians and returned missionaries, were past guests who answered questions about preparing for missions, sharing the gospel, maintaining standards, increasing self-worth, and much more.
“Face to Face events present marvelous opportunities for youth from around the world to gather together electronically and participate in uplifting conversations about topics of current and relevant interest to them,” Elder Cardon said.
