Sunday School General Presidency
Mark L. Pace
Sunday School General President
Mark L. Pace was serving as an Area Seventy and a member of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he was called as Sunday School General President in April 2019. Brother Pace earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Utah in 1980 and a masters of business administration from Harvard Business School in 1982. He worked in commercial real estate development for the Boyer Company from 1984 until 2012. He began working for Gardner Company in real estate development in 2015.
Milton Camargo
First Counselor in the Sunday School General Presidency
Milton Camargo was called in April 2019 as the First Counselor in the Sunday School General Presidency. Brother Camargo served as an Area Seventy in the Europe Area from 2006 to 2010 in the Third Quorum of the Seventy. He also served as an Area Seventy in the Brazil Area from 2010 to 2013 in the Seventh Quorum of the Seventy. He has served in a variety of Church positions at the congregational level, including bishop, stake mission president, and elders quorum president. As a young man Brother Camargo served as a full-time missionary in the Church’s Portugal Lisbon Mission. From 1997 to 2000 he served as president of the Brazil Porto Alegre South Mission, and from 2002 to 2005 he served in the presidency of the Brazil Missionary Training Center.
Jan E. Newman
Second Counselor in the Sunday School General Presidency
Jan E. Newman was serving as a stake president when he was called in April 2019 as the Second Counselor in the Sunday School General Presidency. Brother Newman earned a bachelor’s degree in French from Brigham Young University. He has worked in the software industry in Utah for over 30 years. He is a serial entrepreneur and has founded several successful software companies. He is currently a partner at SageCreek Partners, a technology consulting company in Utah.
