Memnet P. Lopez

Relief Society Advisory Council Member

Memnet Panes Lopez was born in Iloilo, Philippines, to Sal Chavez Panes and Purificacion Pasaporte Patriarca and was raised in Guam. At the age of 19, she joined the Church with her family. She graduated from Brigham Young University–Hawaii with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She also attended Far Eastern University Medical School–Philippines for two years. Sister Lopez was married to Marlo O. Lopez in the Laie Hawaii Temple. They have three sons.

Prior to her call to the Relief Society general advisory council, Sister Lopez served as a nursery leader, ward missionary, early-morning seminary teacher, Primary president, member of a stake Young Women presidency, Gospel Essentials teacher, Relief Society teacher, and a missionary in the Illinois Chicago Mission. She and her husband also served as mission leaders in the Philippines Bacolod Mission. She is currently serving as a member of the seminary and institute research committee.

She enjoys gardening and cooking and loves spending time with her grandchildren. Her favorite scripture is Helaman 5:12: “It is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation.”

Sister Lopez has been called to be the matron of the Yigo Guam Temple and will begin her service in 2021.
